Wife and i have been there together once but i scouted it out ahead a few days before LOL. I can’t say enough good stuff about this place. We are country folks and the food and service we got there was spot on for folks like us. I believe any age group will love the chow and the atmosphere at Donna’s. We will certainly make the 62 mile trip over and over for a great meal like this!

Friendly staff with good service. Buffet had a good selection to choose from but the best was the homemade biscuits(rolls) - BEST EVER, soft, fluffy and delicious 😋 Try them when your in the area and be sure o have the rolls

The buffet has delicious, homemade Southern food with salad and dessert. The turnip greens are to die for. The staff is great and the atmosphere warm and friendly. Highly recommend.

We stopped here on our way home from Pigeon Forge and I highly recommend it. All of the food was well-seasoned and delicious. I had to try a little bit of everything. My personal favorite was the fried green tomatoes; honestly some of the best I’ve ever had. The fried catfish and chicken were also excellent, and even the salad bar was great quality. If buffets aren’t your thing, they also have a regular menu you can order from, but let’s be honest, you’re going to want the buffet.

Ate supper at Donna's Old Town Cafe tonight, 01/03/26. A tiny old fashioned place in downtown Madisonville Tennessee. It's buffet style if you wish. You'd think the pickin's were slim until you taste. A little bit goes a long way up here in the Southern Highlands. Try the Corn Bread salad & sliced beets on the salad bar side. The Cole slaw is sweet; just like Mamaw always made it. The fried chicken was crispy on the outside and soft and tender on the inside. There was delicious fried fish with hush puppies. Pinto beans and corn muffins with a pleathora of southern veggies including Fried Green Tomatoes. Donna's runnin' Appalachian Strong up here in these Southern Highlands. Y'all come if you can and don't dare pass up that corn bread salad 😉

On January 1st, 2026, we ended the Frosty Dragon Motorcycle Ride at Donna's Old Time Cafe for lunch. We had 30 people in our group. To accommodate, Melissa arranged for us to have our food upstairs. The food was delicious and the servers gave us outstanding service! Thanks, Melissa and to all the staff at Donna's Old Time Cafe, for a great start of 2026.
